Company History

Team Apparel was founded in 1984 by Chris & Gail Docky. From a part-time venture in their home it took 2 months to acquire their 1st official storefront (500sqft) on Western Ave in Green Bay. A year later that location had doubled to accommodate floor samples, displays, and screen printing and embroidery equipment. Continued growth and referrals necessitated a new larger location (1500sqft) in 1986 located on North Military Ave. Over the following 7 years, Team Apparel expanded three more times in this location, adding employees & equipment to better serve their expanding customer base.

By 1993 the decision was made to construct their own facility completely designed to accommodate the specific product and service needs well into the next decade. Construction was started in early 1993 on a 6,000 sq. ft. state-of the-art-building. In August, Team Apparel had moved into its current location at 1110 N Military Ave. in Green Bay. This new move was the catalyst needed to propel Team Apparel to new levels of screen printing, embroidery, promotional products, trophies and awards. Some of these areas included:

  • expanded screen printing equipment
  • updated computer graphics
  • sublimation
  • wax transfer printing equipment
  • state of the art embroidery
  • a greatly expanded showroom full of promotion products, garments, and awards

This updating of products and services continues as new technology allows Team Apparel to better serve their customers’ needs.

In April of 2008 Team Apparel was purchased by Travis Herber, who was their top salesman. As the new president he has continued to follow the same values set before him that allowed Team Apparel to be a successful business in providing top quality screen printing, embroidery, promotional products, trophies and awards. Travis’s 12 years in the industry has allowed him to build strong relationships with successful organizations, companies, schools and sports programs that enabled him to achieve key results in customer service, sales, and profitability for any school or organization. Team Apparel’s unprecedented 25 years of success in business has been largely attributed to the strong relationships they build and service they provide to their customers.

From its humble beginning, Team Apparel & Specialties Inc. has grown to become one of the area’s largest and most preferred suppliers of screen printed and embroidered apparel, promotional products, trophies, and awards.
